Energy efficiency in Saudi Arabia Research Paper

Energy efficiency in Saudi Arabia - Research physical composition ExampleThe paper tells that Saudi Arabian government has become adequately aware about the lease to depend more on renewable forms of zilch instead of fossil fuel. Though the nation is lush in oil that ensures cheap availability of energy the economic, environmental, and social consequences of a total reliance on fossil fuel have become obvious through various studies. Also, the Saudi Arabian terrain turn up itself rich in renewable sources like solar and wind energy. The harnessing of such alternative sources poses various challenges because of their higher(prenominal) cost of production and fluctuating nature. Because of their fluctuating nature, it has become necessary to store them for future use. Thus, the article by Rahman et al looks into the present day energy sector in Saudi Arabia and the geographical and environmental conditions of Saudi Arabia to introduce various storage systems that are currently available. Rahman et al write the article with a round out understanding of the energy sector of Saudi Arabia. The article acknowledges the shortcomings of the present day energy storage systems and the lease to store renewable energy in Saudi Arabia. Though there are certain advancements in the storage of energy, the growth has not been sufficient to meet the demands. Quoting Lee and Gushee, the scholars point out that if renewable energy has to become an important part of base misdirect dispatchable power and, it should develop the capacity for massive electrical energy storage. In order to assess the usability and challenges of using various storage systems in Saudi Arabia, the first agentive role taken into consideration is the climatic condition. It is pointed out by the scholars that batteries are highly sensitive to weather conditions such as temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure and wind speed (ibid). Saudi Arabia possesses a desert humour with extreme hea t during the day and cold at night. Inconsistent rainfall and significant variation in temperature and humidity also makes the climate of the region unique. Thereafter, the scholars look into the energy supplying and demand in Saudi Arabia. It is found that while Central Operating Area (COA) is considered, the maximum load during the day is 9725MW and the minimum load is 7290MW (Rahman, et al, 2012). Similarly, peak load occurs in the month of July and minimum load occurs in the month of January and they are 9725MW and 2133MW individually (ibid). Thus, Rahman, et al (2012) find that the average load remains below 8500MW for 16 hours in a day. So, the trace is that if EESS system can supply the load during peak hours, it can be charged during the off-peak hours. After acknowledging the point that energy storage system in Saudi Arabia needs to meet all these requirements, the work looks into the major energy storage systems that seem useful in Saudi Arabia. The systems are divide d into three categories base on their nature mechanical systems, electrical systems, and chemical systems (Rahman, et al, 2012). The first mechanical system examined by the scholars is wield hydroelectric energy storage. In this system water is pumped and stored at higher elevations. When required, this water is released onto a turbine to generate electricity. The second mechanical system is the flywheel that can generate uninterrupted DC power supply when coupled with innovative components. The third system is the compressed nimbus energy system in which air is compressed and stored in a vessel during off-peak hours and then

Research Paper - Essay ExampleThe gendered roles of men and women institutionalized the supremacy of men which was come on reinforced by the fact that universe the bread-earners, they were naturally the heads of their families. This kind of male dominance prevailed since centuries, until the mid-twentieth century, when womens remunerates activists initiated historical movements. Up till then, women did not have many chances of getting high education as compared with men. However, with the exit of time, they became aware of their political and societal rights and sought to fight for them. In many countries of the world, women were deprived of their inheritance, and so a great deal was to be done to earn their birth rights. For instance, the right to express themselves the right to have a verbalize or opinion the right to earn or work the right to marry the person of their excerption the right to have or not to have children the right to vote the right to divorce the right to adopt a religion or simply the right to live their own lives, rather than being dictated by the norms of society or the patriarchal system. Prior to this awareness, they had no rights over their own bodies or sexuality. Having right over your own body means having the power to decide for yourself. Self determination was denied to women since past times but the dynamics of the twentieth century changed the mindset of all and sundry, once various movements in different parts of the world gained momentum. Perhaps the first step was to step out of the domestic domains and lay the work force with men. As their roles changed, there developed a natural urge to change their social and political status. After a long journey, women today can claim to enjoy equal benefits at workplace, access to therapeutic stillbirth, maternity leave, etc. The health exception drew additional legitimacy from Britains passage of a therapeutic constabulary in 1967. In the late 1960s, reformers succeeded in securing laws for therapeutic abortion in a number of states, which set up complicated processes heavily supervised by checkup committees that allowed women to end pregnancies in hardship cases involving rape, incest, the probability of a deformed child, or the threat of death. (Stansell, 315) The Abortion integrity is yet a controversial topic in many parts of the world. However, womens rights activists that were in opt of this law hailed the decision of the government in this regard. The official law prevented women from aborting themselves at home that posed fearsome health risks for them. However, abortion by choice is yet not a simple task in many states and is only performed where necessary. If the reasons of abortion are primarily for the health or honour of women, or in case of a deformed child, then women are granted this right. Conservative societies, like Japan were reluctant to change their attitude towards women, as demanded by the womens rights activists. Regardin g the abortion rights in Japan, during the 70s and 80s, a massive change was witnessed among women who fought for womens rights. This movement spread awareness among women about their rights whether to have a baby or not. ...women in the reproductive health movement diligently prevented the revision of the national law that would have limited access to abortion. The revision would have legally nullified women

Her paintings seem to be unfinished, however, Laylahs paintings are able to say a lot about any historical period from Nazi German to the Salem witch trials. in all of her paintings have small cartoon-like figures who are hard to be identified in sex, nationality or race, but these figures are like the mirror of the present (Art in the twenty-first century). This painting, as the majority of Laylahs works, does not have a title. It was completed in the year 1998 and is the part of the Greenheads and Attack of the Bluehead series (Bonami 2006). There are quaternary individuals on the paintings, with improper body structure. It seems that the figures in green suits have committed some tier of execration and will be punished for it, but at the closer looks it appears that the painting is about the identity and ability struggles in the modern society. The individuals with the raised hands have the green and orange dress, while the person who is representing the dominance wears the while dress. It is interesting that despite of the idea that the painting is the reflection of the modern societal power division, the person in the while dress reminds the Egyptian aristocracy from the times of Pharaohs. Even his hat is of the same form as Egyptians.

Hugh is no longer a two dimensional personation but a real character with human attributes, hence why we can be life-sustaining and admirable towards him. After all, Hugh is a self-educated man with a vast depth of knowledge of the Classics, intercommunicate four languages, that we know of, Greek, Latin, Gaelic and English nearly all of which he would have to have taught himself. He seems to be driven to share his knowledge. By teaching the Classics in his environment of rural poverty, himself a draft of poor ragged countryman, we must appreciate his drive and ability. Hugh also formed the Hedge School come up as far as we know.He is attempting to educate the locals and one almost feels that he has taken the instruct from the hedge lines into the barn and still as an old man in his early sixties he has the ambition to move onward and upward to a new position at the new guinea pig school. He is clearly a figure in the local community who is looked up and celebrateed by his peers and students alike. In addition, Yolland has a great deal of respect for him, calling him an astute man. Yolland almost has more respect for Hugh than Owen does because Owen continues to be minute of him and Yolland repeats, But so astute, almost placing Hugh on a pedestal. In addition, as an audience you have to respect his ability to cope with his situation, his wife has died and his sons are without a mother. It is easy to be critical of Hugh but you have to admire his ability to cope with the hard reality of the times he is documentation in even if that means trying to erase the past. After all he did live in an age of hand to mouth existence and he almost blocks out the reality of these hardships. His survival mechanism is a natural and human instinct. We cannot really blame him for wanting to live in an unrealistic earthly concern of Greek myth and Latin past.Neither can you chastise his imbibeing. His lifestyle and the stress of his situation is what drives him to drink and you cannot really fault him for that. All of these small but simple gestures that Friel incorporates into Hughs character are what make us as an audience have admiration for him. Friel does not create a stereotypical character, but a fully-rounded individual with human qualities, it is these qualities, which allow us as an audience to both admire and criticise his character.

Mystic Monk Coffee Essay Example for Free

unfathomable Monk Coffee EssayThe Wyoming Carmelite monastery was founded by Father Daniel bloody shame who lived as a Carmelite hermit in Minnesota before moving to Clark, Wyoming, to establish the refreshing monastery. Soon after arriving in Wyoming, Father Daniel Mary had formed the vision of acquiring a immature piece of land where he depart be building a bracing monastery with accommodations for 30 monks. This new monastery that Father Daniel Mary has in vision testament also be a retreat join for lay visitors, a Gothic Church, a convent for Carmelite nuns, and a hermitage. There were 13 monks dedicated to a life of prayer and worship in the Wyoming Carmelite monastery. chum Elias, better known as Brother Java, was Mystic Monk Coffees master roaster and ironically is not a coffee drinker. Mystic Monk Coffee had its own website that was responsible for the majority of their sales. Mystic Monk Coffee was also food marketed on websites through the Sh arASale participati on program. A new larger roaster was quoted at $35,000. Father Daniel Mary had a fructify plan to maximize the potential of monastic opportunities, and realize his vision of buying the Irma Lake Ranch for $8.9 million dollars, and will be the location of the new monastery.Father Daniel Mary is fully aware of the challenge he has in front of him in order to acquire the Irma Lake Ranch. I bank Father Daniel Mary has set explicit objectives and performance targets for achieving his goal and I believe that starts with him realizing that the cloistered monastic environment offered unique challenges to operating a business enterprise, exclusively also provides opportunities that were not available to secular businesses. Father Daniel Mary used the intelligence activity of mouth among loyal customers as a marketing tool in Catholic parishes across the joined States. Father Daniel Mary is also fortunate to receive donations, a $250,000 one in particular but there is also a group of lo cal business owners that had formed the New Mount Carmel Foundation, which helps the monks hassle funds.I believe that Mystic Monks Coffee is using the broad differentiation strategy because they are distinguishing that they are different from other coffee companies because of their strong religious background. Through religion the monks are able to market their coffee brand to other Catholic parishes throughout the United States. The monks are able to stag $56,500 per calendar month in their first year of operation through sales of coffee and accessories but they solo make a profit of 11 percent from all sales, which is $6,215 a month in revenue. Thats only about $75,000 in profit after their first year of operations.A larger revenue will be needed in order to purchase Irma Lake Ranch. So right now I believe that Father Daniel Mary has made great progress but he is still a languish ways away from purchasing a $8.9 million piece of land. Father Daniel Mary resolved to articulat e an execution plan that would enable Mystic Monk Coffee to minimize the effect of its cloistered monastic constraints, maximize the potential of monastic opportunities, and realize his vision of buying the Irma Lake Ranch. I would consider this a lovely strategy because through good faith Mystic Monk Coffee will maximize gelt and be embraced by all Catholic parishes in America, and each parish will be able to bypass the good word through risk-free marketing. My only recommendation to Father Daniel Mary would to recruit more than monks, which will help with the growth of Mystic Monk Coffee. More monks equals more productivity.

Culture identity Essay Example for Free

Culture indistinguishability Es reckonWhat is ending identity? Culture identity is appreciation and understanding of literature and who or what a person is, identical monotony and distinctive character. It similarly mover what you are and how you live. In this essay I am going to make unnecessary about explore for my barbarism by Bhatt and Hurricane hits England by Grace Nichols. I have chosen them beca handling they use a mixture of poetic devices, which makes the metrical composition lively and entertaining to read.Firstly the poem Search for my glossa is about her feeling abandoned and heart-rending because she went to a place where she forgot how to speak her mother tongue while language the foreign language, which is upsetting for her since she is blissful about speaking her mother tongue. She also tells us in the poem about her experiences and what she has been happening to her. I have it away this because she uses a range of talking to for e.g. lost and spit t his makes me intend that she is losing her memory of how to speak her own language, as this is shameful for her because her mother tongue is part of her identity. She is also nerve-wracking to get rid of the foreign language as she described it as spit. The word spit creates an characterization of someone trying to get rid of something ugly in their mouth. Then again in the brook part of the poem she is feeling glad and corroborate to being natural because her mother tongue grew back in the night. I know this because she quotes it pushes the other tongue aside this line is stiff because it makes me feel that she is elated of getting the chance to speak her language other than the foreign language. The poem Search for my Tongue uses a variety of different language devices for e.g. she states grows longer, grows moist and grows absolute veins the poet used repetition so that she can carry the pace going and the rhythm run smoothly and that she just started a new life as she de scribed it in order. However she also uses personification. I know this because she exclaims it ties the other tongue in knots this makes me believe that the tongues are combating it out with each other just to tie each other in knots. This is effective for the reader because it engages with the reader so they can be involved in the poem. The poet also uses imagery words so she can catch a picture straight away in the readers mind. I know this because she quotes it grows back a stump of shoot. This makes me signify of the tongue capturing the language as fast as a gunshot.Secondly the poem Hurricane hits England by Grace Nichols is about her feeling alienated from life in England and that it took a hurricane to bring her back closer and remind her of her memories. The poet is feeling petrified and dominant.I know this because she quotes fearful and reassuring. This makes me think that she is actually afraid of whats going to happen to her that she stayed awake half the night, on the other hand she is ready to take for and strike anyone. This is effective because it makes the reader continue to read until he/she finds out what happened at the end.The poem Hurricane hits England uses a wide range of techniques for e.g. she uses lots of rhetorical questions for e.g. she quotes tell me why you visit an English coast? This means that she is trying to tell the hurricane why did it visit her land and not someone elses. She is also trying to say that did she do anything bad that frustrated the hurricane. This is effective because she does not want an answer however she wants the reader to think of the answer while they are reading it which will make it more interesting to read. The poet also uses similes. I know this because she quotes what is the meaning of trees falling heavy as whales. This means that the hurricane was so physically powerful that when a tree fell it was as heavy as a whale. This line is effective because it makes the reader regard what would hav e happened if millions of trees fell which would have killed so many people and destroyed so many homes. The similarities of the devil poems are not quite the same because in the content the two poems talk about the culture identity and about their new place. In the language they use imagery and metaphors however in the construction most of the lines are laid out in paragraphs. The differences between the two poems. In the content Search for my Tongue is about language and Hurricane hits England is about the environment. In the language the poem Search for my Tongue uses personification. I know this because she quoted it ties the other tongue in knots. She also used repetition. I know this because she quoted grows moist, grows longer and grows strong veins. In Hurricane hits England the poet used rhetorical question. I know this because she quotes o why is my heart unchained? The poet also used similes. I know this because she quotes trees falling heavy as whales. In the structure Se arch for my Tongue is laid out in lines and paragraphs however the poem Hurricane hits England is just laid out in paragraphs and stanzas. In conclusion I think Search for my Tongue is better because some of the words are in different language, which is interesting to find out and it uses lots of language devices. The poem Hurricane hits England is full of rhetorical questions, which makes it tire and it makes the reader think a lot.

Effects of Brand Association on Small Scale Traders Essay Example for Free

Effects of stigma Association on Small Scale Traders EssayEffects of Brand Association on Small-Scale TradersIntroduction What be the effects of brand association on the death penalty of secondary-scale traders? Brand, in this case, refers to the version of a product made by genius particular manufacturer. Levitt (1983) affirms that irresponsible brand associations are developed if the product which the brand depicts is durable, marketable and desirable. He further asserts that the customers must be persuaded through advertisements, that the brand possesses the features and attributes that will satisfy their needs. This will lead to customers having a positive impression roughly the product. Positive brand association helps an organization to gain goodwill, and obstructs the competitors entry into the market. Hypothetically speaking, one would say that effort coupled with utmost discip duct on the side of the small-scale traders would assure them jibe success. It make s so much sense when looked at on the surface. Truth be told, brand association is indispensable if the small-scale traders are to thrive. Though an idea that I am suggesting for the big incredulity throbbing on every small-scale traders mind, it has not yet been proved to be correct. The bottom line is, brand association has an influence on the accomplishment of small scale traders. This is because it provides consumers with a point of speciality of the various types of products provided by the small-scale traders. Brand association is an important dimension of brand equity because, deal human association, it is both differentiating and enduring. Consumer perceptions of price, quality and value are considered pivotal determinants of shaping behaviors and product choice (Bishop, 2004).Methods of enlisting When looking at the methods to be used in recruiting people who would carry out the research, it would be prudential to seek the work of professionals. This would be becaus e professionals are adequately equipped and have been in the practice for a while, hence would render the very beat. This route value for the finances spent on the whole make is sure. A matter of great importance that cannot be ignored would be how the recruitment process should go down. This is in order to take in, not just professionals, but the best in the market. There are a number of viable and proven recruitment methods that will most assuredly give the best results, in terms of professional personality. Firstly, I would develop a job description making vitreous silica the requirements necessary for the work at hand. Sending local e-mails would not be an option to ensure panoptic get byage of the advertisement (Managing Agency workers, 2013). The e-mails would inform potential staff of the opening and ask them to share the nurture with family and friends. More to that, posting on a website with a link to employee testimonies would go a long way in communication in regar d to the recruitment. Finally, since advertising via television would be a bit costly, radio set would be the perfect media of communication. This is because it would especially get to the people at the grass roots Levitt (1983). In conclusion, bill is key in the whole process and must be put in check. Measure refers to the quantitative necessity in the whole research process. The study measure to be used will only be dependent on the market size occupied by the small-scale traders (Meenaghan, 1995). Using large, medium, and small market sizes, having 2 hectares as the size of a small market, approximately 3 employees would comfortably cover the area. The question of relativity cannot be ignored to clearly and acceptably bring home the key question here, which is, what study measure? With all that in place, the question of the effects of brand association on performance of small-scale traders would have been adequately and appropriately responded to.ReferencesLevitt, T. (1983). Examine Shakespeares presentation Essay Example for Free

Examine Shakespeargons presentation EssayWhen small town was first performed in 1601, England had been successfully ruled for forty-three long time by Elizabeth I, a strong and potent monarch who reigned without a male counterpart, establishing England as one of the well-nigh powerful and prominent countries in the world. This is demonstration that women can be as successful as men however women were still seen as siemens class citizens, and property of their saves, during the Elizabethan period. Polonius says of Ophelia I pull in a daughter have while she is mine. (2.2, line of work 106).This is reflected in Shakespeargons portrayal of women in Hamlet, which shows Gertrude in a very different light to Elizabeth Tudor. For many years in the past, many women played a small role socially, economically and politically. As a ensue of this, many works of literature of this time, including Hamlet, were reflective of this diminutive role of women. Shakespeargon suggests the danger of womens involvement in administration at the sovereign level, and reflects the publics desire for a return to a state of stability through a change to a patriarchal system. We can examine Shakespe ares presentation of women in Hamlet through the delegacy the two women in the play, Gertrude and Ophelia, are figure out outed by the men in their lives, and by analyzing the context in which they are referred. The first time Claudius refers to Gertrude he says Our sometime sister, forthwith our Queen, Th imperial jointress of this warlike state, (1. 2, lines 8-9) which shows how he took advantage of his dead brothers wife whilst she was still mourning her husbands death to settle his place on the throne. She married.O most wicked speed, to post, with such dexterity to incestuous sheets. (1.2, lines 156-157) Here Hamlet is accusing his mother of depravation because of her improper familiar activity and marriage. Even though a marital bond existed between Claudius and Gertru de, the step on it and incestuous aspects of the marriage enrage Hamlet. The couple were married less than three months by and by the death of Hamlets father, and in Hamlets eyes, Gertrudes actions have defiled her character. Royal sexual activity created concerns about both power and purity in the Elizabethan world. As women had no opportunity to fight on the battle field, chastity was the principle metre of their honour and virtue. Therefore Hamlets opinion of his mother has a negative reflection of a muliebritys virtues. Sir Walter Mildway, 1510, said discern thy wife for virtue merely. Elizabeths sexual conduct drew public attention, and she publicly vowed her purity, even adopting the title stark(a) Queen. When King Hamlets ghost appears he refers to Gertrude as his most seeming-virtuous Queen. (1. 5, lines 4-6) He is expressing his belief that Gertrude had always seemed faithful, but now she has married much less of a man she has dishonoured him, and lost all his resp ect and trust.Even though Hamlet and his father are seeking revenge on Claudius, they continue to speak of Gertrude. In his irregular soliloquy we expect Hamlet to be expressing his hatred towards Claudius, however he is focusing all of his qualification on this most pernicious char, (1. 5, line 105) who is his mother. This dis-belief at his mothers behaviour is understandable, however, as it is so soon after his fathers death, and you would expect Gertrude to still be mourning the death of her husband that she apparently get it ond dearly. One of the most famous quotes regarding women in Hamlet is frailness thy name is woman. (1. 2, lines 146-147) This quote sums up the attitudes of the male characters in the play, that women are by far the weaker sex and gives us a clue as to why the men treat Gertrude and Ophelia with so little respect. In 1558, writer, John Knox described women as weak, frail, impatient, feeble and foolish. Emphasizing the way that women were viewed at th e time Hamlet was written. Both the women are greatly controlled by the men of the play, particularly Ophelia who is frequently told what to do and who has been treated as if she does non have a mind of her own all her life. When asked a motion Ophelia often replies with I think nonhing, (3. 2, line 118) and when she does express an opinion it is dismissed. Polonius says Affection? Pooh, you speak like a green girl unsifted, (1. 3, line 101) which is highly patronizing, saying she speaks like an inexperienced and untried girl who does not know what she is talking about. Ophelia could have an out-going personality however, she is so oppressed that we never get to see a true reflection of her character, due to the constraints of the society she is living in.We even hear Gertrude, the Queen of Denmark, saying to her husband I shall obey you. By obeying the men and big(a) in to a passive existence Gertrude and Ophelia are living up to the label that women are the weaker sex. The me n give wide advice to both women, telling them what to do and when, Polonius tells Ophelia not to give her virginity away too easily when he uses the metaphor set you entreatments at a higher rate then a command to parley, (1. 3, lines 122-123) where her virginity is compared to a castle under siege.Even though Polonius is Ophelias father, he seems to have no respect for her, or her privacy, and rarely thinks of how she whitethorn be feeling. He reads Hamlets love letters out-loud to the King and uses Ophelia as bait to improve his image in front of Claudius, which is extremely egocentric and obsequious. Another quote that really stands out in Hamlet that shows how little respect the men have for Gertrude and Ophelia is Get thee to a nunnery. (3. 1, line 121) This is Hamlet telling Ophelia that because he can not have her, no one can, so she has to go to a nunnery, away from all other male contact. He does not ask her how she feels, and is willing to make the rest of her life mise rable simply because he can not be with her. It never even occurs to Hamlet that she might be willing to move on and chance on someone other than him to spend the rest of her life with. After the nunnery scene, Ophelia speaks to Polonius and we hear her opinion for the first and only time. She presents herself entirely as the victim of Hamlets rough treatment. She says I of ladies most deject and wretched, that sucked the honey of his musiked vows, (3.1, lines 158-159) showing how Ophelia had believed in what Hamlet told her and how she feels dejected about the fact that he claims to have never loved her. God has presumption you one face, and you make yourselves another, (3. 1, lines 145-146) is Hamlet saying that women wear too much make-up and in doing so are deceiving men into thinking that they are something that they are not. He accuses Ophelia of being a typical woman and is therefore not treating her as an individual. He says For the power of beauty will sooner transform rea lity from what it is bawd, (3.1, lines 111-112) explaining his opinion that beautiful women are untrustworthy and insincere. Even though Hamlet accuses women of this, he is saying it in the heat of an argument so he may be exaggerating and may not be giving his true opinion. Ophelia hardly says a think back to him though, again reflecting the idea that women are frail and passive. passim the play Hamlet makes reference to prostitutes, and seems to make a confederation between women, sex and corruption. When Hamlet and Polonius are speaking he says For if the sun breed maggots in a dead dog, being a good kissing carrion. (2. 2, lines 184-185) He uses this metaphor of a dead dog, and a pun on the word sun, to make the point that if the son (Hamlet) kisses the daughter (Ophelia) then she may breed, like the maggots in the dead animal. The characters of the play often refer to sex in a negative manner, and it is never described as a kind act between a couple. In Hamlets second solilo quy he is blaming himself, and compares himself to a slatternly woman saying that he must like a whore, unpack my heart with words, and fall a-cursing like a very drab, a stallion. (2.2, lines 592-594) His references to women are always negative, and he presents them as objects that men can use for sexual pleasure whenever they want. The final point to make about the way Shakespeare presents women is the fact that Ophelia is the only character dictated to suicide, and that she is one of only two women in the play. This is possible another way for Shakespeare to make his point that women are by far the weaker sex. Audiences today would find the way that the women in Hamlet are treated extremely surprising as today women are so much more independent.Instead of being a husbands possession, a wife is seen as an equal. Women today have the freedom to be more open-minded, and are allowed to instance opinions other than their husbands. Women today have almost total sexual freedom as well , so the connection between women, sex and corruption would probably cause mixed reactions. This, however, also brings me to the point that even though Shakespeares presentation of women is negative, so is his presentation of men.He shows the men being insensitive, selfish, oppressive and shows them treating women with very little respect. Frailty thy name is woman, no longer applies to the women of the 21st Century as there are more or less equal opportunities for men and women now, and everyone has the same education and job opportunities no matter what sex you may be. I think that this quote sums up Shakespeares overall presentation of women and the treatment of Gertrude and Ophelia shows us how women were oppressed, and often seen as objects rather than human beings.

North and South Differences Essay Example for Free

North and South Differences EssayWhen the pioneers from Great Britain came to The new world, immediately known as America, they located themselves both over this new land that they had discovered. They divided themselves up into colonies. They had colonies in the brotherhood and colonies in the southeasterly, both being different from each other do to the climate and geography. In the northern colonies the main economic goals were centered on the industrial calling side of things. They produced tons of goods, which allowed them to be able to trade a lot of what they produced. Also they did a lot of fishing, which was a major business in the northern colonies. The gray colonies, un comparable the northern colonies, had an economic system found on factory farm and plantations. They also kept their economy growing by having imported or forced labor with the effortful worker trade going on. The south had a lot of hard work that needed to be through with(p) and they needed people to do it for them, so they saw slavery as a solution to that problem. The north on the other hand, like I said, was industrial based so they didnt rescue a ton of hands on working jobs like the south. The Labor wasnt near as hard for the north so they didnt really get into slavery that much. Religion in the northern and southern colonies was also a little bit different. In the north there were more religious settlements, which mean that they had more of freedom when it came to religion and things like that. In the south religious activities aligned with Angicans. Which means they did things like the people in Great Britain did. They had the same views on religion as the Britains and didnt have very much freedom in their religion views. The social views from the northern colonies believed that above all that their period should be spent in productive labor. They had large families and enjoyed drinking. They sang, dance, and made music still did all of these things at the ap propriate time, and didnt get excessive with how much they did it. They did not see sex as evil, but believed that people should be married if they did do it. In the south, due to all the economy being based on plantations, society was based on class and race, which made it difficult for everyone to come together into covenant on things. The government was set up in towns and didnt have much communication with all the towns as one. The northern colonies were more bonded and had mayors, fire departments, police stations, and other things set up like a real government should. The southern colonies combined with the northern colonies produced a pretty good economical system, the southhaving the agriculture side and the north having the industrial side. This made our relationship with England strong because we had things that they would want to trade with us. We affect Englands economy positively, which made our relationship strong. The northern colonies strayed away from Englands str ict religious views so this sort of hurt the relationship between the north and England, but it didnt hurt the relationship that bad. It wasnt till after the French and Indian war, where the relationship between the colonies and England started to go down hill. After the French and Indian war when England started to tax the colonies, the south had a lot of Tories these were people who did not want to rise against England. The northern colonies most everyone was in favor of rebelling. So the South had a better relationship with England if you tell all the factors together. Even though both of the colonies had their differences, they also had their similarities. Both relied on trade to an extent, both struggled with their economies at first, both had dreams of creating a new society. They both came from the same place, Great Britain, and wanted to start something new and be the beginning of something new. Even with the diversity of the north and south, eventually we came together, an d made America what it is today, one of the greatest countries on Earth. Our diversity defines us, and I believe it makes us stronger as a whole.
